Red Ribbon Celebration in Summit October 18 - November 2
Summit NJ will celebrate it’s 14Th annual Red Ribbon Celebration October 18- November 2, 2007. Trees around town will be decorated with red ribbons in remembrance of D.E.A agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena who was murdered by drug traffickers in February 1985. The nationwide “Red Ribbon Campaign” was started in his honor to help educate children to avoid drugs and alcohol. On Thursday, October 18th Red Ribbons will be tied to trees around Summit. Elementary Students will celebrate “Red Day” October 24th by wearing red to school while the Middle School will wear red to school on the 25th.
